So...if there's no script, what do we do?
We play improv games and participate in exercises aimed to hone skills in comedic timing, active listening, quick thinking and reacting, which guides you in exploring your creative side.
These are skills that are not only highly useful for acting, but also have many real world applications such as public speaking, presenting, customer service and problem solving.
Theatre Basics: One Day Workshop
Go behind the curtain for an entry level exploration of theatre craft in a fun and welcoming environment. Students will learn terminology and basic methods theatre makers use to create stage craft and illusion. We will explore the importance of a well-trained backstage crew and why it’s often more fun to be behind the scenes than on the stage.
Playwriting
This three-part workshop offers the beginning playwright an opportunity to write a ten-minute play, along with basic information on what goes into writing a full-length theatrical play, screenplay or TV pilot. Writers will incorporate simple exercises and standard script format, to develop a ten-minute play.
Acting Methods
Beginning actor exercises in a fun and welcoming environment: the first part of the series we discuss and explore the most common acting techniques from classical to improvisation used by theatre and film actors.
